Every Child is Valued

Arrow Speech & Language was founded in 2016 by Kristen Hanvey, SLP, as a way for a busy mom to serve her community. Its mission is to enhance children's communication skills and improve lives, whether it be through family support, direct therapy services, or building capacity in schools districts. Kristen believes that all children have a voice.

Owner & Lead Speech-Language Pathologist

I founded Arrow Speech & Language to provide the kind of personalized, compassionate care that makes a real difference — not just in therapy sessions, but in everyday life. As a mom of two teenage girls, I know how hard it can be to find a provider you connect with and trust. I believe that I have something to offer that is a blessing to families and schools.

The most rewarding moments are when real life change happens. Maybe it is when a children speak for the first time, pronounce their name correctly in class, or eat a family meal. I know that speech, language and feeding disorders can impact a child at home, school, on the ball field, in the dance studio, or anywhere in the community.

With over 20 years of experience, my background spans pediatric private practice, school-based therapy, home health and early intervention. That breadth of experience means I understand the big picture of what families need at home, what students need in the classroom,  how the school system operates, and how to bridge those factors.

I hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and licensure in the state of Texas. I am a member of the Feeding Matters Texas Council, and pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest research and practices.
